Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the Honorary Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is well-known for her pioneering modern research of the memory of children as eyewitnesses as well as the role of children victimization in court. Professor Goodman has published extensively as well as received numerous grants. She has also been recognized with numerous national and international distinctions. She has worked with a variety of government agencies and institutions across the world on policy and research relating to children who are people who are victims of the law. She acts as an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of several professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families policy and practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman is also a member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
